Composing an oval dining table for 6 people is something you obviously don't do overnight. If you have many options, it can be difficult to find the right specifications and that’s just the case with Table du Sud: many options! But some good news: we’re happy to help you compose your new dream table.
In this blog, we take a closer look at buying an oval dining table for 6 people. Read more about the different sizes and options you have so that you can make the right choice with confidence. Do you like to experiment with the design of the table yourself? Then get started with the 3D configurator we designed.
Oval dining table 220 cm
We make all new dining tables by ourselves in our ultra-modern workshop in Heeze. Here, we have complete freedom to develop all possible designs, which means we can offer an incredible number of options. This way you determine the dimensions of your dining table yourself, but also the material, colour, frame, and edge finish. If you’re looking for a dining table for 6 people, there’s a number of options in terms of size. For example, we advise you to choose a tabletop length of at least 220 cm if you want to place six dining chairs at the table. In terms of width, you can choose from 100, 110, 120 and 130 cm. Try to carefully measure at home what’s perfect for you, so you can make perfect use of the space you have.
Oval dining table 260 cm
The largest size we recommend for oval dining tables for six people is 260 cm. This is a large table with more than enough space for six chairs. For this length we advise you to go for a width of 110, 120 or 130 cm. With a dining table of 260 cm, it’s even possible to seat eight people, but we would like to emphasise that you use chairs without armrests. Chairs with armrests take up too much space.
Oval dining table 240 cm
As mentioned, utilising the space provided is a task that can lead to great benefit. Do you have a little more space to fill, and would you like to place dining chairs with armrests at the table, for example? Then it’s certainly worth going for a slightly larger size. You’ll then automatically arrive at an oval dining table of 240 cm. To maintain a good balance between length and width, we recommend not choosing a width of 90 cm. In this case it’s best to choose a width of 110, 120 or 130 cm. Tip: did you know that in addition to the classic oval, there are three other shapes that belong to the oval category? Check out our Danish oval, semi-oval, and semicircle dining tables. Perhaps your dream table is among them!
Small oval dining table for 6 people
Do you have limited space or are you simply looking for the most compact dining table there is? Then it’s possible to go for a dining table of 200 cm. We would like to point out that this is only possible if you have/get dining chairs without armrests.
Space behind your oval dining table
Especially when your space is relatively small, it’s wise to use the space provided as efficiently as possible. This way you don't leave a metre unused and get the most out of your dining room or kitchen. When moving, it can be difficult to determine the correct dimensions of your new dining table and the space around it. Because how much space do you actually need between the wall and the table? We recommend leaving at least 70 cm space between the edge of your oval table and the wall. This gives you the option to push your chairs back and allow people to walk behind others without it becoming too crowded.
