Rectangular Dining Table 220 cm
The smallest size we recommend if you want to place at least six dining chairs at your table is 220 cm. For clarity: by 220 cm, we mean the length of the long sides. Additionally, we advise against using dining chairs with armrests. These chairs take up more space, making it simply impossible to fit three chairs along the long side. We allocate approximately 70 cm per seat, and with three relatively narrow chairs, this fits perfectly.
Rectangular Dining Table 240 cm
If you choose a larger size, you end up with a table 240 cm long. This size offers you a bit more freedom, as it allows you to use dining chairs with armrests. With this size, you don’t need to take the width of your dining chairs into account.

Rectangular Dining Table 260 cm
At 260 cm, you find a similar setup to a 240 cm table. You have complete freedom to use wide chairs with armrests. However, still try to visualize how your chairs will fit with the table. It doesn’t look great if too much space is left over when the six chairs are positioned.
Rectangular Dining Table 280 cm
This size is particularly suitable if, for instance, you often host friends or family and want the flexibility to add more chairs. A table that is 280 cm long is even suitable for eight chairs, but in that case, we recommend using chairs without armrests. Tip: we also sell matching dining chairs. These can also be fully customized to your preferences.

Dining Chairs at the Short Ends
You can easily expand a rectangular dining table for six people into a table for eight by placing two chairs at the short ends. It’s even possible to do this permanently to create two extra seats. We have some tips for you if you’re considering using the short-end option. Our first tip is to make sure your table’s base supports this setup. Do you have a relatively small six-person table? Then a bulky base with four legs can severely limit the space for chairs. In such cases, it might be worth opting for a central leg. But even with a central leg, it’s a good idea to imagine how everything will fit. Would you like tailored advice? Visit one of our stores. Our experts are ready to help you make the right choices. Space Behind Your Rectangular Dining Table
If you want to use the space in your dining room or kitchen efficiently, every opportunity to save space counts. The distance between the table and the wall, for example, is an important consideration. We recommend leaving at least 70 cm here. This way, you can still walk behind people seated at the table without scraping against the wall or having people get up. Tip: do you have less space available or want an even smarter setup? Consider placing a dining bench on one side of the table. These benches can be positioned directly against the wall, saving you a lot of space without compromising seating comfort.
