If you want to make efficient use of your kitchen or dining room space but still place 8 dining chairs, we recommend choosing the smallest size, which is 280 cm. With this relatively small table for 8 people, it is essential to choose dining chairs without armrests. Armrest chairs take up too much space, and a 280 cm table top simply isn't big enough. Another option is to take a top of 260 or 280 cm and place two chairs on the ends. Tip: choose a central leg if you need just a few centimeters more to comfortably tuck the dining chairs under the table.

Rectangular dining table 300 cm

If we step up a size, we reach rectangular dining tables of 3 meters. This size creates a bit more comfort and allows you to place all possible dining chairs at the table. It doesn't matter if you have slender chairs or robust chairs with armrests.

Rectangular dining table 320 cm 

If you want even more comfort, a table of 320 cm is the solution. With these dimensions, you also have the freedom to place all possible chairs. Additionally, as a tip, consider the width of your table top. With relatively long tables, which 8-seat dining tables obviously are, it often looks less attractive if you choose a narrow width. Take this into account when you are re-arranging your kitchen or dining room.

Rectangular dining table 350 cm 

For really large kitchens and dining rooms, we also make dining tables of 350 cm. A table of three and a half meters offers incredibly much comfort, and this size can also be used for a 10-person variant, where we do advise using narrow dining chairs without armrests.

Additionally, you can choose to place the table with its shorter side against the wall. The downside is that you can't easily place a chair at the end because you'll have to move the table.

Space Between Your Rectangular Table for 8 People and the Wall 

Walls play a crucial role when planning a new dining room setup. Do you think one particular wall will ruin your dream plan? Then it's wise to grab a tape measure to see what options you have. We recommend leaving at least 70 cm between the edge of the table and the wall. This way, you can always pass behind if there are people at the table
