As mentioned, our dining tables are manufactured in our own workshop, which means that you have a lot of freedom in choosing the right sizes and edge finishes. Whether it concerns a compact table or a large dining table for the whole family: we have what you’re looking for! For example, are you in the market for a relatively small dining table? Then we advise you to choose a dining table with a length of 160 cm. The minimum width that we consider then would be 90 cm. We think these are the minimum dimensions that you should adhere to if you want to seat 4 people at your dining table on a daily basis.

Oval dining table 180 cm

Of course, we also have slightly larger variants of dining tables for 4 people. One step up will give you a tabletop with a length of 180 cm. You also have the option to increase the width of the table. There is no fixed recommendation for the width of your dining table if you go for a length of 180 cm. You can go for 90 cm, but 100 cm also works well. Tip: with an oval table there’s always option to add dining chairs at the end sides in case of emergencies. Do you plan to add these regularly? Then consider a Danish oval dining table of 180 cm. With Danish oval, the end sides are straight, creating two full-fledged seats.

Oval dining table 200 cm

The largest suitable size we recommend for an oval dining table for 4 people is 200 cm. A tabletop with a length of 2 meters offers plenty of options if you like spacious seating. You can also increase the width of the dining table if you like. The minimum length is still 90 cm, but a width of 110 and 120 cm is certainly possible as well. With a tabletop of 200 cm it’s even possible to place six dining chairs by default! Please note: go for dining chairs without armrests. These chairs take up slightly less space, so everyone has enough space to sit without hindering each other during dinner and drinks.

Space behind your oval dining table

Especially when your space is relatively small, it’s wise to use the space provided as efficiently as possible. This way you don't leave a metre unused and get the most out of your dining room or kitchen. When moving, it can be difficult to determine the correct dimensions of your new dining table and the space around it. Because how much space do you actually need between the wall and the table? We recommend leaving at least 70 cm space between the edge of your oval table and the wall. This gives you the option to push your chairs back and allow people to walk behind others without it becoming too crowded.

In the case of an oval dining table for four people, the frame plays an even greater role than it usually does. That’s mainly the case because these dining tables are quite compact, which means you have to pay extra attention to give everyone enough legroom. Fortunately, we also make the frames ourselves, and there are plenty of variants that match perfectly with the smaller sizes. For example, choose a slender, central frame.
