Frequently asked questions about modular sofas

Do the elements of Table du Sud modular sofas connect as neatly as linked sofa elements?

Yes, absolutely. The separate elements are joined precisely to prevent visible gaps or exposed fittings. With standard linked elements, that risk is often still present.

When is a separate element considered fully finished?

A separate element should be fully finished in its own right, so it can be combined seamlessly with other elements. Even when using occasional tables between sections, we ensure the connection remains visually balanced and well resolved. Each individual element forms part of a larger composition, in which multiple pieces come together as one complete sofa.

Do you have inspiration showing what a modular sofa can look like?

Yes, we have several strong examples. Take a look at our modular sofas Monroe, Massimo and Santi, for instance. These models include photos of different configurations, so you can see at a glance what is possible with a modular sofa and how each arrangement changes the feel of a living space.

Why not use a fixed connector on the side of the sofa, but a crocodile clip underneath?

A crocodile clip sits underneath the sofa and is only used when connecting two elements. These clips can also be turned away again, which makes it easy to rearrange the elements later on. That gives you complete freedom in how you compose your sofa. Traditional side connectors are more limiting, as they remain visible on the outside of the element.

What is the delivery time for a modular sofa?

You can find the delivery time on the page of your chosen sofa. These are current lead times and are updated whenever they change.

Is a design-led modular sofa also available in other colours and fabrics?

Yes, it is. You can choose from more than 300 fabrics and an even wider range of colours. Much of this fabric collection is also available for many of our armchairs, dining chairs and bar stools, making it easy to coordinate different seating pieces throughout your interior.

Are modular sofas sturdy and durable?

Yes. Although the sofa is made up of separate elements, together they form one stable whole. In addition, all fabrics have a high Martindale rating, which means they perform very well in terms of wear resistance. This makes our modular sofas suitable for intensive daily use.

How much does a modular sofa cost?

That depends on the configuration and fabric you choose. A U-shaped sofa will naturally cost more than a two-seater. While composing your sofa online, you can immediately see how each choice affects the price.

Can I view a modular sofa in one of your showrooms first?

Yes. In our showrooms, you can see a large part of the collection in person. This gives you a much clearer impression of our sofas. We can also show you how the crocodile clips work and explain the advantages in more detail.

Do you also sell beige modular sofas?

Yes, modular sofas are available in beige as well as in a wide variety of other shades and fabrics. Each fabric has its own colour palette, which often includes beige, grey and other versatile tones.

Do I need to pay a deposit for a modular sofa?

For online purchases, we ask for a deposit of 10% of the total purchase amount. This is not required when placing your order in one of our furniture stores.

Do I receive a warranty on my modular sofa?

Yes. All modular sofas come with a standard two-year warranty. This covers manufacturing faults and construction issues. You will also receive advice on daily use and maintenance, so your sofa stays looking its best for as long as possible. Thanks to high-quality materials and careful craftsmanship, you can expect a sofa that is made to last for years. With the All in House service, your warranty can be extended to five years.

What is a modular sofa?

A modular sofa is made up of separate elements that come together as one complete design. It is a flexible choice, because you can adapt the arrangement over time. Unlike some modular systems, you do not see obvious connectors or exposed joining mechanisms, but one well-finished whole. Within the world of modular sofas, there is a great deal of variation. Not every design offers the same level of finish, freedom or visual coherence. We are happy to explain what truly defines a well-made modular sofa. A modular sofa from Table du Sud always feels complete and considered, even if you choose to place a side table between two separate elements.

The quality lies in the way the elements connect seamlessly: no visible fittings, no awkward gaps, no uneven transitions. These are the details worth paying attention to when comparing modular sofas. Our modular sofas offer exceptional freedom when it comes to composition. From hundreds of possible combinations, one well-crafted sofa takes shape, tailored to your space, without an unfinished appearance, and with a result that feels personal and almost entirely unique.

Because there are so many ways to compose each design, we do not work from stock. Your sofa is crafted to order. The strength of a design-led modular sofa lies not only in its finish, but in the breadth of possibilities. Think of different layouts, hundreds of fabrics and a wide range of colours. From all these options, your ideal sofa gradually comes together — and we are here to help you shape it. Still deciding, or would you prefer to experience a modular sofa in person first? You are very welcome in one of our showrooms. Whether you are looking for advice, material guidance or answers to specific questions about our modular sofas, our interior specialists are there to help.

How do you compose a modular sofa?

Bringing separate elements together into one sofa that feels exactly right, that is the aim, though the process is not always straightforward. There are several ways to create your modular sofa. The most traditional route is to visit one of our showrooms. It helps to come prepared, for example with the dimensions of your living room, a moodboard and relevant photos. That way, our interior specialists can help you arrive at the right composition. If you would prefer to explore the possibilities from home first, we have developed a 3D configurator for our most popular designs. It gives you a clear view of the individual elements and allows you to combine them into your ideal sofa.

You are also welcome to book a free product or interior consultation. During this appointment, we look more closely at your wishes and requirements, so we can guide you in greater detail. At weekends, this also means we can make sure enough time is set aside for you.

Will a modular sofa suit your living space?

In almost every case, the answer is yes. A modular sofa consists of separate elements, which means the composition can be adapted to your room. So if you see a sofa and assume it could never work in your space, there is a good chance it actually can.
