5 tips for buying a 3-seater sofa
You don't buy a 3-seater without some consideration. Most people spend a lot of time making decisions like these, and that’s good! Firstly, it’s smart to orient yourself. For instance, check all the different options before making a decision.
But how do you ensure that the final decision is 100% the right choice? Well, we can’t guarantee 100%, but we can give you a number of useful tips & tricks so you can feel good about your choice!
Tip 1: to measure is to know
Every search for a new piece of furniture starts here. Try to map out what your options are when it comes to dimensions. Are you planning to replace an old sofa? Then you already have a perfect indication of the possibilities, so you can focus more on shifting the accents a bit, for instance. Will you go for a slightly larger or smaller sofa this time?
In the case of a complete makeover or a move, it can be a bit more difficult to find the right size. Try to make the correct assessment and don’t forget to consider the legroom. Tip: is a 3-seater sofa just too small or too big? Then take a look at 2-seater sofas and 4-seater sofas.
Tip 2: determine your living style
Of course, a living style doesn’t determine which choices you have to make, but it does give you a great opportunity to match all your furniture with your other attributes. Be inspired by the different living styles and you might find some great ideas for the rest of your living room! In addition, discover the colours that match the different styles. From industrial to rural, and from Scandinavian to Japandi: every living style has something unique.
Tip 3: pay attention to the colours
The colour of your sofa is at least as important as the design. The colour determines whether the new acquisition matches well with the rest of your interior, so it’s important to make a well-informed decision. Do you have two dominant colours in your living room? Then there’s a good chance that a variant of one of those colours is a solid option for your sofa. Good to know: the pictured sofas merely give an indication of the furniture. The design speaks for itself, of course, but don’t forget that our sofas can be ordered in dozens of colours! Think in terms of possibilities!
Tip 4: lighting
We could have mentioned this in the tip above, but we want to emphasise it anyway. The incidence of light, or the lack of it, can greatly affect colours. Does the sun have free reign through 3 windows, or is your living room mainly dependent on artificial light? Then this will undoubtedly affect the colour. For example, a dark green sofa can suddenly appear a lot lighter due to the sun. Don’t forget to consider this when choosing a colour.
