5 tips for choosing your new U-shaped sofa

Tip 1: to measure is to know

It sounds like a huge cliché, but it does hold some truth. If you’re going to replace a worn-out sofa, you probably already have a good idea as to what the size of your new one should be, but this can be a bit more difficult if you’re moving to a new place. So, get started with a tape measure and map out the most optimal sizes of your new U-shaped sofa.

Are you planning to use a coffee table in the middle of the U-shape? Reserve at least 40 cm for the space between the sofa and the table. In addition, consider the walking lines around the sofa and ensure that there is sufficient space everywhere. Also try to decide where exactly the sofa will be located. Tip 2: match the sofa with your living style

Choosing a colour for your new U-shaped sofa might seem like a piece of cake, until you’re presented with all these options. Having a lot of options is great, but it can very well be the cause of doubts. Some colours are very similar and then it really comes down to the details.

But how do you choose the perfect colour for your new sofa? For starters, try to also look at the big picture here. Make sure that the colour you have chosen fits in well with your other furniture and accessories, so that you arrive at a beautiful whole. In addition, it’s smart to take the lighting into account. Do you place the U-shaped sofa in a room where the sun has free play? Then a dark colour can appear a lot lighter. It also works the other way around, of course. In less light, a colour can appear darker.
