Tips for using your oak table
This is how your furniture remains beautiful
How nice that you bought a piece of furniture at Table du Sud! We hope you enjoy your purchase for many years to come. The furniture will probably be used intensively.
Which is why taking care of your furniture is very important. Proper maintenance of is a must. Below, we have listed some practical tips so you know what to look out for.
Using your wooden furniture
Our furniture is provided with a very high-quality matt lacquer, which is applied in our paint shop. Our lacquered furniture is basically maintenance-free, but tips for use are of course always useful.
Usage
Your furniture is easy to keep clean with a damp cloth. Use a cleaner for stubborn dirt. You can order these in our webshop, just like all our other maintenance products. Be careful with tea bags, red wine, and objects that can oxidise. We recommend using coasters under hot and sharp objects.
Humidity
At all times, it's important that the indoor humidity percentage is between 50 and 65%. Oak furniture thrives around these values. In winter, the humidity can drop to 30% due to heating. As a result of this low humidity, dry cracks can appear in the wood. If you don't have heating, we recommend buying a humidifier. To measure the humidity, we recommend a humidity meter.
