5 Tips for buying an oval dining sofa

Tip 1:

Match the sofa with your dining table

Totally in love with an oval dining sofa and can't wait to see it in your own home? Amazing! Do make sure that your new sofa matches the rest of your interior, though. For example, an oval sofa looks good with a Danish oval or oval dining table, but not with a rectangular dining table.

Tip 2:

Colours, colours, and more colours

With a well-coordinated collection of colours you can aim for perfection. That means it’s smart to really think about the colour of your new sofa. Make sure it goes well with the rest. Also, your new sofa is a show stealer, not an outsider! Extra tip: light does a lot with colour. Your blue sofa could appear very light in a room with a lot of sunlight and a bit darker in a room where the sun hardly shines. 

Tip 3:

To measure is to know

A cliche, but a true one. You’ll achieve the best result if the length of your table matches the length of the sofa. To make sure what’s what you have to get started with a tape measure! If you are going to set up a new room, it is advisable to match the length of the table to the length of the sofa. Dimension-wise, there’s a bit more freedom regarding the table.

Tip 4:

Adjust any upholstery to your needs

Do you have pets that easily make their way to the couch or young children? Then it might be smart to go with upholstery that’s easy to clean. This way you prevent permanent stains or differences in colour. Tip: we have plenty of maintenance products in store for you.

Seats

Do you find a large family at your table every day or 2 or 3 people at most? The dining sofa is part of the whole if you look at the number of seats at the table. So do you think at least 3 people should be able to sit on it? Then go for a spacious oval dining sofa so you ensure never being short of space.
