Trend 1: organic shapes

An organic shape is also called a natural shape. Here, we aren’t talking about a sleek rectangular dining table or a coffee table in the shape of a perfect circle. Think, for example, of water drops, pebbles, and other often asymmetrical shapes. Organic forms are on the rise and that’s something we love, partly because those shapes manage to break the sometimes hard and clean lines of some interiors. We’re happy to create these shapes for you in our own workshop. How about the pebble-shaped dining table Ozu for example? With this furniture you’ll steal the show!

Trend 2: Japandi is here to stay

If you have a keen eye for living styles, chances are you've already seen the term “Japandi”. But of course there’s the possibility that you think: Japandi? That’s new! A short explanation: Japandi is a combination of Scandinavian and Japanese living styles. This sounds a bit strange, but it makes for beautiful interiors. Do you want to know more about this living style and the art of omission? Read more about Japandi and Wabi-Sabi, the philosophy from which Japandi partly originated.

Trend 3: brown is the new black

After you have composed your dream table, you may suddenly realise that you can choose from so many different colours… At Table du Sud we offer a lot of freedom when it comes to colours. Deciding on one can be quite difficult and a trend might help with that. In 2022, brown is making some solid progress. The different tones and hues of brown find their way into our interiors again and it’s even called “the new black”. In that regard, Table du Sud is the right place to be! The wood look is of course naturally brown and when you compose your furniture, you’ll soon find out that there are many different variants of brown you can go with for your new table.

Trend 4: natural materials

As you know, we work with natural materials for our tabletops at Table du Sud. But did you know that you have a lot of influence on the natural look? For example, with oak tabletops you have three options: lived oak, new oak, and refined oak. Lived oak means we leave the knots and cracks in place, while refined oak contains virtually no knots or cracks. The golden mean is new oak, these tabletops do have knots and cracks, but we'll fill those for you. Would you like to know more about this? Discover all the ins & outs about our oak wood. Extra tip: do you really want to bring nature into your home? Then go with a Suar tree trunk table. The tabletops of this tropical wood type hail from Indonesia and are made from one piece, so you opt for a unique piece of furniture with a natural look.

Keep looking for that inspiration

By reading inspiring articles and looking at beautiful pictures, you know better and better what you like and don't like. When the moment comes for a move or for some restyling, you’ll know exactly where you want to go with your interior. So continue your orientation in 2022. If you are looking for a basis for your inspiration, the different living styles are a good start.
