Choosing a colour for your sofa or chair? We will help you!
Discover our 6 tips and make your final decision
Have you finally found a sofa or chair that perfectly matches your taste in terms of design? Then you're almost there! After that, it’s just a matter of choosing the right colour for your new furniture.
But what should you pay attention to when you’re looking for that colour? To help you, we’ve collected a number of tips so you’re completely satisfied after the delivery of your new acquisition!
Tip 1: think of the whole
Did you instantly fall in love with a certain colour? Then you could immediately jump into the deep end, but we advise you to take a look at the entire living or dining room first. Does the new colour match the other furniture, accessories and, for example, the colour of the walls? If your answer is yes, then you probably found your match. A good balance usually means a beautiful end result.
Tip 2: light
Light does a lot with colours. Please consider this when you determine the colour of your new furniture. For example, does your living room have windows on 3 sides? That means sunlight has free rein, which leads to a dark grey sofa suddenly appearing a lot lighter. It also works the other way around, naturally. In a moderately lit room, a light grey corner sofa can look a lot darker.
Tip 3: cushion variation
Your sofa cushions provide extra comfort and cosiness, but they have another useful function as well. The colours of your pillows further enhance your living room and can be used to set some beautiful accents. This way can bring back colours from other furniture as well, like your carpet. Keep this in mind when you determine the colour of your new furniture!
Tip 4: get inspired
Table du Sud furniture is available in an incredible range of colours, which means there’s always a colour available that suits you perfectly. You just have to find it. The different living styles are a good starting point if you’re going to orient yourself. Discover them all and see which colours belong to what styles. For example, are you a fan of the industrial living style or is the rural style more up your street? Take a look and you’ll know your preference in no time, as well as what colours match best.
