What is velvet?

Velvet is a soft, shiny fabric that you have probably seen in luxurious looking interiors before. When you stroke velvet you feel all kinds of mini threads sticking up, one of its most famous characteristics. Velvet is made of silk or cotton and woven with raised loops.
