Danish oval oak dining table Coco
What do you get when the popular Danish oval shape mixes with a striking frame? A real eye-catcher! This Coco combines class with functionality. Compose it all by yourself using our 3D configurator and bring a true gem into your home!
Shape
To start with a fun fact: the Danish oval shape was devised in the workshop of Table du Sud and quickly became a real crowd-pleaser. The crosscut side is straight, which enables the creation of two extra seats. For example, you can choose to place dining chairs there, or to only add chairs in the case of social gatherings. Did you know that the dining table Coco is available in four different shapes? Also take a look at the oval Coco, the semi-oval Coco, and the semicircle Coco for inspiration. And don’t forget to read our blog about the four oval shapes. Here, you’ll find all the ins & outs about the shapes at a glance!
Material
In our workshop in Heeze, Brabant, not far from the place where the first Table du Sud table was once made, we love working with excellent material. Oak wood is the perfect option in that respect. This wood is durable and will last a very long time (with proper maintenance). At Table du Sud, we offer you three different types of oak: lived oak, new oak, and refined oak. Lived oak is ideal for lovers of the rural and natural, as it means we leave the knots and cracks be. Refined oak is the opposite. This wood consists of specially selected planks that contain virtually no irregularities. New oak makes for the golden mean. Here, we fill the knots and cracks. Tip: Also take a look at our other Danish oval tables for inspiration.
Frame
The frame of the Coco can rightly be called ‘special’. If we zoom in on the frame of this table, we see two C-shapes curved inwards. These carry the tabletop with ease. As far as we’re concerned, this makes for a wonderful example of a seemingly simple table with a surprising twist! Tip: When choosing the size of your table, pay close attention to the position of the chairs and the frame. This prevents you from coming into contact with the frame while sitting.
Custom-made in our own workshop
We’re proud that we can answer the question: 'Do you make the table yourself?' with a resounding 'yes'. We make the Coco in our own workshop in Heeze, Brabant, not far from the place where the first Table du Sud furniture was once made. Here, we work without stock, as almost every dining table is unique. For example, you can choose from different sizes, colours, materials, and finishes. You can always find a combination that matches your taste and the rest of the interior. Want to know more? In the blog with frequently asked questions about our workshop, you’ll find a lot of information about 'the place where the magic happens'. Tip: also take a look at our dining chairs and kill two birds with one stone!
