On this page we have listed all information about our Oak Basic dining tables for you.
Different shapes Oak Basic
When composing a new dining table, several aspects are of importance, and the shape is of course one of them. When you think of a Basic dining table, you may immediately think of a classic rectangular dining table, but that doesn't have to be the case at all! These are the available shapes within the Oak Basic line:
The best-known form, still very popular and a good option if you’re looking for a dining table to eat/drink at with the whole family. You can’t go wrong with a rectangular table: what you see is what you get.
Over the years, working with oval shapes has become one of Table du Sud's specialties. Classic oval is still popular and possible the perfect shape for you!
An organic shape? Yes, of course! We see that asymmetrical tabletops are becoming increasingly popular and that’s why we have rolled up our sleeves in the workshop. With a pebble shape you kill two birds with one stone: you get our most striking tabletop, and you use your space efficiently. In our blog about asymmetrical shapes, we have listed all the advantages of the pebble shape for you.
After you've decided on the shape of your new Basic dining table, it's time to get to grips with the tabletop dimensions. It’s good to know that the dining tables from the Basic line have a maximum length of 240 cm and a width of 120 cm. The thickness of the tabletop is 30 mm by default.
When composing your dining table, you’ll see that there are a ton of options from which to choose. But how do you know what your perfect size is? If you have a table that needs replacing, then that’s a good basis. In the case of a move or a complete restyling, it can be more difficult to find your perfect dimensions. Take the number of seats you want to create as the foundation. This gives a good indication of the size you need. Read our blog about the number of chairs at the table for more information.
If we zoom in on the material used in the Basic collection, we see a beautiful combination of two materials that form the tabletop. We use a melamine sheet as the base of the tabletop. On this plate we glue a layer of our best oak. As you may know, we work with different types of oak and refined oak is one of these variants. Refined oak is known for its sleek appearance, as these planks are specially selected by us and contain virtually no knots. That’s how we guarantee that you’ll receive a super sleek top. Good to know: the table is finished with an excellent lacquer that ensures that your dining table is protected against circles and stains for 10 years. The finish is a 6 mm and 60-degree bevelled edge.
By choosing the right colours you ensure that your table doesn’t disturb the balance in your dining room or kitchen. We can treat the dining tables from the Basic line with an ultra-matt lacquer, so the typical wood look is preserved, but you also have the option to opt for Black Smoke Intense. In that case you go for a–yes, it’s in the name–black tabletop. Tip: we can also spray the frame in several colours for you.
When you think about your new dining table, chances are you mainly focus on the tabletop. However, it also certainly pays off to carefully consider the frame. This is the literal basis of your table and with a beautiful frame you really complete your new acquisition. For the Basic line, we have selected 4 popular frames that you can choose from during the composition of your table. Fun fact: we also make the frames ourselves in our workshop in Heeze. Choose from Lachaud, Mads, Gap and the XX 10x4 frame and complete your table. The frames can be painted in black or white if you wish.
