Maintenance textile and leather

Our furniture is made of leather or textile. Different maintenance advice is fitting.

When cleaning leather, use a clean, lint-free cloth. Treat a stain as soon as possible, usually a cloth with lukewarm water is sufficient. Never rub too hard in one spot, this will give shiny spots and clog pores. Blot moisture spots as quickly as possible with a tissue or kitchen paper. Leather is a natural product. This means that there may be minor deviations between your product and those of the showroom models or samples.

These properties determine the natural character and charm of the leathers. In genuine leather, the following errors can occur, insect bites, scars, neck folds, structure and color differences. There may also be wrinkling on the chair, or it may develop over time. This stems from the natural stretch and gives a certain stretch to prevent too much pressure on the seams. These are natural properties of leather.

We offer roughly two types of leather:

Closed leather; Hermes, Toledo and Vivente

Semi-aniline leather, for intensive use. This leather is treated with a protective layer and a print, very suitable for intensive use and very easy to maintain.

We recommend the maintenance product Leather protection set from Oranje B.V. for this type of leather.

Open leather; Antigo, Africa.

No dyes are applied to the surface of these leathers. This gives the leather a more natural look. Color differences are larger and "errors" (read insect bites, scars and spots) are more visible. Color and structure differences in parts of stitched together leather can occur. This is a character trait that is inextricably linked to the type of leather and therefore the end product. This is accentuated even more by use. Please note, the open structure increases the chance of stains for intensive use with children and pets. These leathers can be sprayed with Leather / textile protector from Oranje B.V. (always read the instructions before use).

Fabric / leather look

We process different types of fabrics and leather look. These are of a high quality. This manifests itself in the field of wear resistance (Martindale test) and light fastness. First make sure that there is no dust on the upholstery. Use a clean, lint-free cloth. Treat the stain as soon as possible. Dabbing with a tissue or kitchen paper, scooping larger amounts with a spoon, letting dry and usually cleaning with lukewarm water is enough. Do not rub in a spot for too long to avoid damage and pilling.
