In the spotlights: Colour, and more colour!
At first glance at Sarah and Lasse’s new interior, the abundance of colours immediately stands out. Are you also a fan of using lots of different colours, but not quite sure what to consider when planning a makeover? Then we’ve got a few tips for you. Choose a calm base colour, such as warm white, light grey or sand.
It’s also wise to let the other colours reappear in a few places throughout the room. A 60-30-10 rule is often used. In broad terms, this means that 60% of the interior consists of the base colour, 30% of a second colour, perhaps reflected in the curtains, chairs or a cabinet. And 10% of accent colours, you can then bring the accent colours back in accessories, cushions and lighting. One extra tip: do you have a bookcase? Try arranging your books by colour for a lovely effect.
Dining room
To say that the dining room consists of a unique collection of furniture would be an understatement. The experts have combined pieces and colours you don’t often come across, yet they work beautifully together. The organic concrete-look Leaf dining table is a real eye-catcher. When you think of concrete-look, you might immediately picture classic grey, but this version in Hague Blue shows just how much more is possible with this material. Take a look at our concrete-look page if you’d like to learn more about it. Spoiler: we have over 25 colours in store for you.
For the seating, a combination of dining chairs and a dining bench was chosen. This was partly done to save space. A dining bench, for instance, can easily be placed against the wall to make the most efficient use of the room. Dining bench Lou and three Neo dining chairs complete the set. Unsure about the upholstery for your new seating, or would you like to see a few colours side by side? Then it’s good to know that we sell colour samples. All colour samples are also available in our furniture stores.
In the living room, lounge chair Bologna immediately catches the eye. This seemingly simple armchair is wonderfully comfortable and delightfully cosy. That’s thanks to the Doodle fabric, which radiates warmth. It’s nice to know that you can configure the Bologna in hundreds of different ways. We offer an incredible range of fabrics, each with its own colour palette.
The warm look is also reflected in coffee table Cassi. This table is made from walnut wood, a material that naturally brings warmth and instantly creates a cosy feel in any living room. The striking base and the semi-circular tabletop make a beautiful combination. The rounded bevelled edge finish ensures there are no sharp corners or edges. This makes it an ideal finish for families with young children, as it helps prevent them from bumping into sharp corners or edges.
