Interior trends 2020
Discover an interior trend in Paris
Where there are trends, there is Table du Sud! At the beginning of January, we went to Paris to discover the latest interior trends
during the Maison & Objet fair. Here, we spotted the trends of the upcoming season, which we are of course happy to share with you.
The place where the entire interior world comes together
Finally the time had come. In January we traveled to the French capital, Paris. Not only for this special city, but for something completely different: Maison & Objet. The interior industry presents its latest collections at this biennial living and design event. Eyes and words fall short for all there's to see. From textiles to furniture to accessories, everything here makes interior hearts beat faster. This edition, the fair was all about 'the art of living', which the international and high-end brands gladly capitalised on.
Trends, trends, trends
The nice thing about a fair where so many brands come together is that when you've walked through all these 7-8 halls, you can clearly see the trends of the upcoming season. At least, if you've had the time to let everything sink in - think 6 x the RAI in Amsterdam completely filled with interior brands. We're happy to share the trends that we have spotted here with you!
Velvet
We start with one of the clearest trends of all: Velvet. We talked about the velvet trend before, and we can see it coming back this year. The velvet fabric is used on chairs, sofas, beds, and down to the smallest details. We don't mind, we are fans! Curious about the rest of the interior trends for 2020? Keep an eye on our blog!
Styling tip - interior stylist Maudi
With velvet, you bring warmth and atmosphere to your interior. For example, use a sofa or recliner with velvet as the eye-catcher of your living room. If you find this a bit too exciting, it is of course also super cool to have the velvet reflected in your accessories and decoration. Modern interior? Fits perfectly, think of a wooden floor and a nice rug in combination with velvet armchairs! Does your house have an industrial interior? Velvet immediately brings more atmosphere and colour.
Also nice: combine our new marble coffee tables with velvet. Opposites of each other, but therefore the perfect combination!
