Ceramic, a beautiful and durable choice!
You may have heard of ceramics before. As far as we are concerned, ceramic is one of the most underrated materials when it comes to durability and maintenance. Our high-quality impressive ceramics lend themselves perfectly to making dining tables and outdoor tables.
In this blog, we will tell you more about the durability of this material. We do this by answering some frequently asked questions.
What is ceramic?
Ceramics is an industrially manufactured product with the natural material clay as its main component. The clay is pressed under extremely high pressure and then fired at a high temperature. This creates a light but very strong material that is extremely scratch-resistant and can withstand high and low temperatures. Would you like to know more? On our page about ceramic we have listed all the information on this material for you.
Why is ceramic a sustainable choice?
So ceramic is a rock-solid material. That means you will enjoy your new garden or dining table for years to come. This is also the reason why a ceramic table is a durable choice. After all, you don't have to buy a new table after a while because the ceramic no longer looks good. Ceramic resists bravely and serves you with ease.
Ceramic is therefore durable and scratch-resistant. How does that work in practice?
Your dining table is (surprise!) often used for eating at. A hot pan, accidentally scratching the table with your fork and contact with other sharp objects. Especially in the case of children, chances are that the table has to put up with some rough handling from time to time. As we mentioned earlier, ceramics are fired at extremely high temperatures to make them as strong as possible. People who have seen granite in real life may see similarities with ceramics. It should therefore come as no surprise that ceramics can handle contact with pans and cutlery. This will not affect the appearance of your tabletop.
Can ceramic furniture also stand in the garden?
Yes! Ceramic is rock solid and therefore lends itself well to making garden tables. We have some designs of our own to help you boost your garden. We would like to mention that ceramic is not a panacea. Put a garden table with a ceramic tabletop inside or under a roof in winter and put a protective cover over the table to avoid discolouration.
Marble and ceramic are both durable. Which is the best choice?
Marble is a true classic within our interiors. We source the marble from Italy. Are you hesitating between these two materials? Then it's good to know that ceramic is a bit more user-friendly than marble. In terms of appearance, they do not differ much, but in terms of vulnerability they do. This is where ceramic clearly scores better.
Durable ceramic customisation. Do you make that?
