Welcome in our workshop

Discover what we do every day in Heeze, Brabant

How exactly is our furniture made? Which machines do we work with? Do we really make the dining tables from scratch? What are we doing to save nature? How is a frame sprayed? Where does our oak wood come from...? Are these questions you would like to know the answer to?

Then keep a close eye on our blogs! In our Workshop & Material blogs, we'll scrutinise our manufacturing process, and everything that has to do with materials and sustainability in general. In this first blog we introduce our workshop!

Heeze: furniture store and workshop in one

Do you really make the dining tables from scratch? We get this question several times a week. The answer is simply: yes. In Heeze, not far from where the Antonissen brothers made their first bar table, a beautiful furniture store has been set up where you're most welcome to come and see our dining tables, coffee tables, and all our other furniture.

What many people don't know is that our workshop is adjacent to this showroom. A second hall has been built recently as well, giving our craftsmen have enough space to make the most diverse furniture. They do this with state-of-the-art machines in an environment that invites to make customers happy every day with a creation from Table du Sud.

Custom work

At Table du Sud, we can rightly say that we deliver custom work from our own workshop. This is reflected, for example, in the lack of a large warehouse. This has the advantage that we can use our space a lot more efficiently. The result of this is that we only really get to work when a customer has communicated his/her wishes to us. So: make-to-order!

Of course, we have a weekly supply of materials, but this never means ready-made tabletops that we only have to screw onto a frame at your home, so to speak. The wood goes into a process which allows us to work on all the important details. This ultimately results in a beautiful tabletop, meeting every preference of the customer. Tip: did you know that you can also buy separate tabletops at Table du Sud?

Chances are that you think of a beautiful tabletop first when imagining a new dining table. This isn't surprising, as it's the most striking part of your new furniture, and the part that you literally come into contact with every day. Yet it's the frame that raelly completes the table. Did you know we also make them ourselves in our workshop? This way, we're able to link many different frames and tabletops together, creating dozens of possibilities.

Sustainability

The pressure on our environment is and will remain an issue, which is why we're proud to say we're taking various measures at Table du Sud to keep our footprint as small as possible. Think, for example, of planning our delivery routes as efficiently as we can to keep diesel consumption as low as possible. In addition, we have invested in solar energy and, as mentioned, we produce locally. The trees are a tangible part of our approach. For every three tables sold, we plant a tree to maintain balance. You'll read more about all these measures in the near future. In the meantime: are you curious about how we make our tables? This is how it’s made.
