At home with Michelle

Michelle works in automotive sales, specialising in supercars. Alongside that, she has a strong eye for interiors. Together with her husband, she lives in Vathorst and recently renovated their home. After hours of scrolling through Pinterest, she finally created the perfect mood board.

At the heart of it all is the living kitchen and a Table du Sud dining set felt like a natural addition. The bar stools are another favourite. Michelle: “The dining space of my dreams, exactly how I imagined it.”

Michelle’s interior style is Japandi. The moment you step inside, the home feels calm and considered.

“What surprised me most was how instantly I fell in love with it. I think it was even worse than when I first saw my husband, haha.”

Semi circle dining table

In the living kitchen, Michelle chose a semi-circle dining table with the Chloe base. Thanks to the slim base, there is plenty of legroom, even with a dining bench. The shape of the table also leaves room for an additional pouffe at the end whenever friends or family come over for dinner. Michelle walked into our Zwolle furniture store and immediately knew that this was the set she wanted.

Dining chairs

Michelle’s Ezra dining chairs are part of the Table du Sélect collection. The chair legs can be finished in the same colour as the dining table, creating a cohesive look throughout the space. Michelle chose these dining chairs for their comfort, ideal for long evenings at the table, including game nights with the children.

Dining bench

Alongside the three dining chairs, Michelle opted for a dining bench on the opposite side of the table. This helps save space, as there is no need to allow extra room for pulling chairs out.

Bar stools

For the kitchen island, Michelle selected bar stools upholstered in the same fabric as the dining chairs and dining bench. This creates a calm atmosphere and ties the entire space together. “I’m sitting here with a coffee now, but usually it’s a glass of wine. This is honestly one of the best choices we’ve made.”
