At home with Anke de Jong

Anke de Jong was born in Heerenveen and developed a passion for fashion and journalism at a young age. After finishing school, her career quickly gained momentum. She built a strong reputation and shared her expertise with a wide audience. Following several internships and roles at fashion magazines, she became editor-in-chief of Glamour well before turning thirty. Her ambition didn’t stop there. At 33, she reached another milestone, becoming editor-in-chief of ELLE, the Netherlands’ leading fashion magazine, an achievement to be proud of.

Alongside leading the editorial team at ELLE, she remains involved in other projects. Every Thursday, she co-hosts the podcast ‘Zogenaamd Succesvol’ with Julia Mekkes. You may also recognise her from her appearance on ‘Wie is de Mol’? in 2023, or from her regular contributions as a fashion expert on RTL Boulevard.

Choosing a new piece of furniture is never a decision made lightly. Anke de Jong took her time and it shows. Her home doesn’t follow a single defined style, but if we were to describe it: calm and balanced. A palette of ton-sur-ton shades forms the base, complemented by a number of more expressive pieces.

Take, for example, the decorative illuminated dog that immediately draws attention, a piece discovered by her sister on a second-hand platform. A striking detail, especially for someone who isn’t particularly fond of dogs. A considered choice, in our view.
