At Table du Sud, we don’t throw collaborations around. But when a great opportunity comes along, we grab it with both hands. That’s exactly what happened with Onno Adriaanse: from the very first meeting, it felt spot on. This promises to be a truly special story.

Onno Adriaanse
Originally from Haarlem, Onno Adriaanse graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2016 and soon after founded his own studio in the city center of Eindhoven. There, he enjoys full creative freedom to work on a wide variety of projects.
Fun fact: this collaboration pushed Onno slightly out of his comfort zone, which ultimately led to the creation of two unique table bases.
“What I really appreciated about working with Table du Sud was that it made me think in a completely different way. Whereas I normally create one-off pieces that require a lot of time, we were now able to design products that are accessible to a much wider audience.”
Both sides had to explore new ground to bring this collection to life. As mentioned, Onno stepped out of his usual process to align his ideas with our production capabilities. After all, the design had to come to life in our workshop and within our standard production timelines.
Amid all those wishes and requirements, we found common ground. Ideas and designs were, quite literally, refined and reshaped to make everything feasible. The first table was eventually built, and now the time has come to share the full collection with you.
The foundation of this collection lies in two unique table bases, which you can combine with a wide range of oak and Fenix tabletops. This means there are hundreds of unique table combinations to choose from.
When we ask Onno whether he was able to take our production techniques into account, he responds:
“I think we managed that quite well. The bases have a sculptural feel to them. And those rounded edges, you’ll see them in my own work too, I translated that into this collection.”
Duo base
The duo base is made up of two oak elements. If you take a closer look at the leg, you’ll notice a T-shape with a blunt angle, perfectly designed to support the tabletop with ease. It’s crafted from the same high-quality oak we use for our tabletops. Top-notch craftsmanship!
Solo base
The solo leg consists of two T-shaped forms with a blunt angle, together forming the central support. This base is also made from the same oak as our tabletops. The two T-elements are placed close together and carry the tabletop effortlessly.
