Properties of the Repair Lak
Table du Sud Repair Lacquer protects and enhances wooden furniture for indoor use. The lacquer is scratch-resistant and wear-resistant, creating a smooth, even matt finish. The natural wood grain remains visible, while the wood is protected against moisture and dirt. The lacquer is water-based, making it easy to apply.
Step-by-step guide
Step 1: Preparation
A good preparation is essential for a refined end result.
Start by thoroughly degreasing the tabletop with a suitable degreaser, such as St. Marc. Then allow the surface to dry completely. Next, lightly sand the tabletop with the sanding sponge supplied, grit 100. Always sand in the direction of the wood and follow the length of the planks. It is normal for a slight white haze to appear during sanding. Remove the sanding dust with a dry, clean cloth. Do not use water. Finally, any small marks or imperfections can be touched up with a touch-up pen in the correct colour.
Step 2: Applying the lacquer
Stir the lacquer thoroughly before use. Apply the lacquer evenly using the roller supplied. Always work in the direction of the wood, using long, smooth strokes. Ensure an even, covering layer without visible roller marks or overlaps.
Tip: Keep windows and doors closed while applying the lacquer to prevent draughts. This helps the lacquer dry evenly and gives the best result.
Step 3: Drying
Allow the tabletop to dry for approximately 2 hours. The lacquer dries to a refined matt finish that suits the Table du Sud look.
Important!
Only use the table again once the lacquer is completely dry. Always work in a dust-free room for the best result. For larger areas of damage, or when in doubt about the right treatment, we recommend contacting our customer service team.
