Table du Sud | Terms & Conditions Design Contest

# Article 1. Purpose

Table du Sud, founded in 2015, has a mission to design high-quality, sustainable, and innovative furniture that combines functionality and aesthetics. With this design competition, Table du Sud invites creative minds to share their vision for a unique table that aligns with our philosophy of craftsmanship, empathy, and sustainability. This competition encourages innovation and provides a platform for new talent.

 


# Article 2. Challenge


The challenge for the Table du Sud design competition is to create an innovative table that combines craftsmanship, functionality, and aesthetics. The design must align with Table du Sud’s core values and make a sustainable contribution to the furniture market.

 


# Article 3. Criteria

 

The designs will be evaluated based on the following criteria:


3.1 **Uniqueness and creativity:** Is the design original and innovative?


3.2 **Aesthetics:** Does the design fit within the Table du Sud style?


3.3 **Commercial feasibility:** Can the design be efficiently produced?


3.4 **Customer focus:** How does the design improve the daily lives of customers?


3.5 **Sustainability:** How does the design contribute to a more sustainable world?

 

 

# Article 4. Participation / Registration

 

The competition is open to everyone aged 18 and older. Participants must register via the Table du Sud website. The final submission deadline will be published on the website. Table du Sud reserves the right to exclude participants who do not meet the conditions.

 


# Article 5. The Design

 

The submitted design must meet the following requirements:


5.1 It must be an original and unique work that does not infringe on third-party intellectual property rights.


5.2 The design must not have been previously published or marketed.


5.3 The design must fit within Table du Sud’s collection and appeal to a broad audience.


5.4 The design must be created by the participant and must not be entirely generated by AI tools without substantial human input.

 


# Article 6. Intellectual Property and Indemnification

 

6.1 If Table du Sud decides to produce a design, a separate agreement will be drawn up outlining the intellectual property rights and any compensation for the participant.


6.2 By participating, the participant grants Table du Sud a non-exclusive, worldwide, and perpetual right to use, publish, and promote the design in the broadest sense, without any additional compensation.


6.3 Table du Sud reserves the right to develop future designs that may resemble submitted entries. Participants waive any claims to compensation or other rights related to such similarities.


6.4 The participant indemnifies Table du Sud against any third-party claims related to the submitted design and compensates for any damages and costs (including legal fees) arising from such claims.


6.5 If Table du Sud decides to produce a design, specific agreements regarding the transfer of intellectual property rights will be established in a separate contract.


# Article 7. Similarities with Future Designs

 

7.1 Participants acknowledge that similarities between their design and future Table du Sud designs may be inevitable due to trends, functional requirements, or general design principles. Such similarities do not entitle the participant to compensation or other forms of recognition.


7.2 By entering the competition, the participant accepts that Table du Sud is free to develop designs that may share similarities with submitted entries, without this being considered an infringement on the participant’s rights.


 

 # Article 8. Publicity


By participating, the participant grants Table du Sud permission to use their name, submission, and images of the design for promotional purposes without additional compensation, even after the contest.

 


# Article 9. Other Provisions


9.1 These terms and conditions are governed by Dutch law.


9.2 Disputes arising from this competition will be submitted exclusively to the competent court in the Netherlands.


9.3 Table du Sud reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. Any changes will be communicated in a timely manner.


9.4 Table du Sud is not liable for technical failures, data loss, or other unforeseen circumstances that may affect participation in the competition.

# Article 11. Jury and Evaluation

 

11.1 Submitted designs will be evaluated by an expert jury consisting of specialists in design and furniture production.


11.2 The jury will assess the designs based on the criteria listed in Article 3.


11.3 The selection process consists of multiple rounds, with a shortlist of designs progressing to each next phase.


11.4 The jury’s decision is final and cannot be contested.


11.5 In addition to the jury evaluation, a public vote will take place via the website (tabledusud.nl). The voting results will be considered as part of the overall assessment, but the final decision remains with the jury.



# Article 12. Prizes

 

12.1 The grand prize includes the production and sale of the winning design by Table du Sud. The winner will receive a 2.5% royalty on the sales price (including VAT) of each table sold for a period of three years. Additionally, the winner will receive a copy of their designed dining table, customized within Table du Sud’s standard production options.


12.2 All costs incurred by participants for the competition, including material costs, are at their own expense unless stated otherwise.

 


# Article 13. Communication

 

13.1 Table du Sud reserves the right to communicate about the competition, participants, and submitted designs through its own channels, such as the website, social media, and newsletters, even after the contest.


13.2 Participants agree that their name, submitted design, and any images or video materials may be used for promotional purposes without additional compensation.


13.3 Any media inquiries or requests will be handled in consultation with Table du Sud and the relevant participant.
